What Flaky Hair is Trying to Tell You

So, you’ve finally realized you’ve got flaky hair. It’s not only itchy but is also embarrassing especially when you’re out and it falls on your black top. Aside from treating it, it’s equally important to find out what it’s trying to tell you in order to better target your treatment. So, here’s what flaky hair is trying to tell you.

1. Your scalp is parched

One of the most common causes of dandruff or flaky hair is scalp dehydration. When it’s not getting enough moisture, the skin on your scalp starts to turn dry and breaks into white flakes. You can address this by increasing your intake of fluids to more than 8 glasses a day. Try massaging coconut oil into your scalp since it’s moisturizing, and it also has anti-fungal properties. Just make sure to rinse it out thoroughly to prevent greasy hair.

2. You need a little bit of sunshine

Too much exposure to the sun can be dangerous and may cause skin cancer. But a little dose of it can help treat dandruff. While outside, make sure to wear sunscreen on your face and body.

3. Your styling products are causing irritations

Styling products have different chemical contents, some of which can be irritating to the scalp especially if they don’t suit your hair type. Hair dyes, hairsprays, and even some shampoo and conditioners can be the culprit of flaky hair. So, it’s best to know your hair type and get the products that are formulated for that hair type. There are also shampoo products that are meant for dandruff. CLEAR has a range of dandruff shampoos that remove the flakes so that you have nothing to hide.

Take care of your hair and stay flake-free.
